Geraldine Road Board.

An adjourned meeting of this board was Jjold on Wednesday last, there being present Messrs W. PosllcthwiuLo (chairman), 8. McShano, J. J£ellapd, F.’ll. Flalman, and W. U. Slack.

Tenders wore opened for the following works :

Contract No. 284. Ford and shingle on Shaw’s road, Geraldine Flat. There were three tenders, and that of M. Lawler, £7 10s, was accepted. For 200 bushels feed oats, the tender of J, Lewis, ttt 2s 6d per bushel, bags 7d each,

was accepted, provided he takes the bags back.

Fords, cutting and shingle, Hilton road. The tender of J. Fifield at £l9 14s was accepted. The following correspondence was read : From Mr J. Howley, re the exchange of section at Orari. The Commissioner of Crown Lands wrote requesting that a plan of the section to be exchanged shall be forwarded to his office. — Plan to be sent.

From Mr 11, O’Neil, stating he objected to the closing of the road from the north-west corner of section 21104 to Taylor’s road, unless the board had power to sell it to him, —The request was granted. From Mr E. P. Wells asking the board that the gates on the road leading from his section, between sections 17497 and 15101 should be removed and the road kept open. Not entertained.

From Mr Burnett stating he had forwarded some iron rails for protective works. From Mr J. S. Sperry advising the forwarding of a voucher for half rates collected for 1888-9 on Crown lands in the district.

Eesolved—That the land adjoining the several owners of properly between Twomey’s and the boundary road be offered to each owner as marked on plan. At this stage the members present went into committee to go through the annual report and balance sheet to be put before the meeting of ratepayers to take place on Friday.
