Assessment Court.

GERALDINE ROAD DISTRICT. (Before Messrs W. Postlethwaite, J. H, Sutter, and B. G. Stericker.) Nineteen objections were lodged, but eleven of the objectors failed to appear in support. Of the remaining, Job Brown applied to have the valuation on his property reduced from £525 to £450. After hearing evidence the court agreed to make the desired reduction. In the matter of the. objection of Thomas Bull, the rateable acreage of his property was, at the instance of the valuer, Mr W. S, Maslin, reduced from 8 acres to 4 acres. Charles Bowker’s valuation was reduced by consent from £l9B to £165. Alexander Kelman appeared and strongly objected to his property being assessed at £2130. After evidence had been heard the court reduced the amount to £I7OO. Alexander Maclean’s application for a reduction was refused, as also was Allan Macdonald’s. David Shaw objected to the assessment on his property at £5840. Two of the items were reduced, £2130 to £1332 and £7OO to £650. The valuation on John Woulfe’s property was reduced from £9B to £BS.

O. J, Dermiaton appeared on behalf of Smith and Denniaton, runholdera, and aakod the acreage aaseaaed to be reduced.
