Mr Parkin, the delegate from the Canadian branches of the Imperial Federation League, addressed a crowded meeting in the Oddfellows Hall last night. Mr Perceval, member for Christchurch South, presided. On tho motion of Mr 0. O. Bowen, seconded by Mr W. P. Reeves, a vote of thanks to Mr Parkin, with best wishes for the success of bis mission was passed. On tho motion of Mr Worsfold, seconded by Mr 1). Bellhouae, it was decided to form a society for securing the continued discussion of Imperial Federation, and providing means for the expression of public opinion on the subject. GISBORNE, April 26, The master of the schooner Awaroa, which cleared on Wednesday afternoon for Westport, at night launched a boat and towed the schooner into the stream. He has since kept possession, and will not give np to the owners, who want to put a new master on board. Captain Wing has on board a number of men and will not allow the owner to take the vessel, stating that he is prepared to use force, if necessary, to prevent it.
