GERALDINE RACING CLUB’S AUTUMN MEETING.
The following is the continuation of yester doy’s racing :
Handicap Time Trot, in saddle, of 20 sovs; 5 sovs from the stakes to go to the second horse; no weight under lOst ; pull and go ; about 3 miles. 7 Mr O. Hammond’s b g J umbo, fiyra 22secs (Owner) 1 60 Mr J. Angland’s b m' Kitty, fiyrs, 78secs (McKay) 2 26 Mr O. A. Harold’s b m Killarney, 65secs (Owner) 3 Jenny Lind (45secs) and Merry Girl (oOsecs) also started.
J umbo came through the field at a spanking pace, and, taking the lead on entering the last mile, won easily by about fifty yards j a good third. Time —Stein 55sec.
Totalisator, £115; dividend £14153. Flyikg Handicap, of 20 sovs ; 6 furlongs. 7 Messrs M. and C. Hobbs’ b g Jack, aged, Bst 21b (Q, Jackson) 1 4 Mr S. Alexander’s ch g Doubtful, syrs (Mcllroy) 2 21 Mr J. Young’s br b Sir Julius, 4yrs (Lewis) 3 Glenora (7st) and Little Shamrock (6st 81b) also started. Pippin was scratched. A fair start was effected, Glenora leading, with Little Shamrock and Sir Julius in close company; Jack last. This order was main* tainod round the back of the course till turning into the straight, when the field closed up, all the horses racing down the straight in a bunch, with Sir Julius in the lead. Jack, however, was seen to bo coming through fast, with Doubtful in close attendance. Beaching the rails the three leaders were going stride for stride, and then Jack emerged from the ruck, and won a tight race from Doubtful; a good third. Time —lmin 20f sec. Totalisator, £66 ; dividend, £8 9j. Squatters’ District Handicap, of 15 sovs ; 1 mile. 10 Mr A. McLeod’s b m Medea, syrs, (Burn) 1 29 Mr S. Alexander’s ch g Doubtful, syrs (Mcllroy) 2 11 Mr P. Burke’s g g Little Shamrock, 4yrs (Wisby) 3 Inch Keith (6st 12lb) also started. Zealot, Matugowrie, and Eclipse were scratched. Little Shamrock took the lead ; then Medea and Doubtful went to the front at the back, Medea keeping the lead till the finish. Time—lmin 51sec. Totalisator. £6O ; dividend, £5 Bs. District Handicap Time Trot (in saddle), of 10 sovs. No weight under 10st; about 2 miles. 5 Mr C. A. Harold’s br m Killarney, aged (SOsec) ... (Owner) 1 18 Mr C. Hammond’s b g Jumbo, 6yrs, scr (Owner) 2 21 Mr W. M. Maekay’s b m Semolina, syrs (3soc) ... (Owner) 3 Merry Girl (20sec), Spark (23see), Ossian (27sec), Kitty (33scc), also started.
