The 8,1. Timaru will be discharging a cargo of Westport coal on Friday next. Messrs J. Ballantyns and Co., drapers, have a new advertisement before the leader. The New Zealand Clothing Factory’s local manager (Mr B, Foster) has a new advertisement before the leader announcing a great clearing sale previous to removal and re-building. The Timaru Building Society shareholders are requested to make their payments before eight o’clock this evening and leave their pass books for examination by the auditors. An advertisement appears in another column stating that a large assortment of twesds are now on sale under cost price in premises opposite the office of this paper. We are requested to state that there will be no Government parade of the Timaru corps to-morrow, Thursday, evening. It has been postponed on account of the races. The parade ordered for Tuesday evening will take its place. The Chairman of the Harbor Board to-day mentioned incidentally that the somewbat vexed question of appointment of an auditor was now pretty well settled. It appeased that Mr Ollivier was, after all, the only authorised auditor. Mr Olliver’s letter, published in our report, passed a very high encomium on Mr Tennant's mode of keeping the accounts. A cricket match will take| place on the ground of the Timaru 0, C., to morrow afternoon, between teams representing the Thursday and Saturday half-holidays.
