The tender of Messrs Carmichael and Sons, of Christchurch, has been accepted for the new Government Printing Office, Wellington. The price is under £12,000. The bnildiog is to be completed in nine months. PoliticalThe Minister of Public Works leaves for Cbrietobnroh to-morrow on business connected with the Midland Railway. He will be absent a week. A foil meeting of the Cabinet is called for December 1. Railway ExtensionGovernment will shortly advertise another contract at the northern end of the main trunk line.
The Mayoralty. George Fisher and Samuel Brown were nominated for the mayoralty to-day. The election will be held on the 24th inst.
The Dunedin MayoraltyDunedin, Nov. 16. Messrs Leary and Carroll were to-day Dominated for the City mayoralty.
