GERALDINE—YESTERDAY. (Before H. 0. Baddeley Esq., 8,.M. Dr, Pish and the Bey. G. Barclay). CIVIL CASES. Walter Kitson (Acting Chief Commissioner of Crown Lands) v. Joseph Lewis. This was an action brought by the Waste Lands Board, Christchurch, against defendant, who is a selector of land situate between Orari and Winchester, under the 69th clause of the Land Act to regain possession of the said land, the conditions of sale not having been complied with. After hearing evidence, His Worship reserved judgment. Similar cases against W. Binskin, E, Lewis, Allwood and Cowley, were adjourned for a month. Same v. Patrick Burke. The defendant said he was willing to give the land up, and handed his license into Court. Judgment was given for plaintiff for the amount claimed with costs in the following cases:—J. R. Platman v. Alexander Findlay, claim £3 Os 9d ; J. Waite v. J. Bull, claim £l3 ; J. Mundell and Co. v. D. McLeod, claim £2 10s ; Taylor and Platman v. A. Bedpatb, claim 3s. In the case Shaw v. Carstou, claim £4 16s, judgment was given for defendant, with costs. N. Dunlop v. G. Ward, claim £3 Os 3d. Plaintiff was nonsuited, with costs. ALLEGED TRESPASS. A case of alleged trespass against Henry Milner was dismissed.
