[By Telegraph.] Auckland, June 25. More than 500 new names have been added to the Auckland city rolls during the last two days, in view of the approaching elections. Dr Eraon is out for Franklyn North. Thames, June 25. Messrs Speight and Fraser are definitely announced as candidates for the Thames seat. The former intimates hisi intention of running absolutely free from all existing political parties. Messrs McGowan, McCullogb, and Bagnall are also mentioned as possible candidates. New Plymouth, Jane 26. Sir Julius Vogel telegraphs the following reply, to the requisition askinfi him to stand for New Plymouth:—“l am greatly flattered by your cordial requisition. lam unable, however,- to accept it, as I have determined to stand for Cbristchnrch. Permit me also to add that it would have been painful to me to stand against my old supporter, Major Kelly, who has represented you for so many years.— Julius Vogel.” Napieb, June 25. A cattle drover named Desmond has announced bis intention to contest the Hawke’s Bay seat. He rnns on the ultra-radical ticket, favoring land nationalisation without compensation,and other extreme measures, Wellington, June 25. Mr Thos. Magon has announced that he will seek re-election for Hntt, Christchurch, June 25. Mr A. P. O’Callaghan intends to seek re-election for Lincoln. Mr Oliver Wansey announces that he will stand for Stanmoro. Mr Joynt’s address to tho Christchurch South electors is published, He agrees in the main with Sir Julius Vogel. Oamaru, June 25. Mr Duncan Sutherland is out for the County of Waitaki, and Mr Thomas Procter, the present Mayor for the Borough. It is probable that Mr T, Y. Duncan will stand again for the County, and Mr Shrimski for the Borough. Dunedin, June 25. A deputation from the Constituency Reform Association is to wait on the Trades and Labor Council to endeavor to get that body to adopt their programme.
