S. 0. Times Office, Monday Afternoon, Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week as follows, viz,:— Horses-About 45 draught, light harness horses, and unbroken colts and fillies and hacks were on Saturday booked at their yards for sale. They have to report a dull demand, and though about one half of their entry found buyers.this was only on account of the absence of any reserve being placed on a number of the lots, and in consequence buyers weie induced to speculate, getting lair good draughts at a long way below their value. They on Saturday sold good draughts from £lB to £22 ; medium sorts, £l4 to £18; unbroken colts and fillies from £lO to £ls ; ordinal/ and inferior hacks, £6 to £l2.

Sheep—There has not been much business done during the week in store sheep, owners prefering at present to hold on rather than accept the reduced prices. At their usual fortnightly sale, held at the Washdyke on Tuesday the 3rd instant, an. average entry was received. They sold 500 merino ewes at from 4s 6d to 4s lOd ; 100 2-tooth crossbreds at 10s lOd. At ■Winchester, on Thursday last, they placed 104 half breds at 13s. Fat Sheep—They have placed privately a few lines at prices almost equal toJ2Jd per lb. Cattle—A good many odd lots were entered for sale on Tuesday last, at the Washdyke yards. They sold twentythree well forward steers and heifers at from £2 to £4 17s 6d; cows from £2 12s 6d to £6 17s 6d. On Thursday, at Winchester Fair they sold 40 one-year and 18 months old steers and heifers at 40s. Fat cattle—They quote beef at from 15s to 17s 6d per 1001 b. At their monthly sale at Studholme Junction last Monday they sold 10 steers and heifers at these quotations. At Washdyke on Tuesday they sold a few head also at these prices. Sheepskins, Tallow, and Hides.—They held their usual fortnightly sale last Wednesday, when they cleared out all the lots at the following prices :—Full-woolled merino and crossbreds, from 2s 8d to 3s. 5d ; medium lots, from 2s to 2s 6d; pelts, 6d to Is ; tallow, 2d to 2gd; bides, 3d to Sjd per lb.
