TIMAEU—THIS DAY. (Before F. LeUren, Esq., and His Worship the Mayor.) LOITERING ABOUT A PRISON. Peter Robertson was charged on remand with loitering about tho precincts of tho Timaru Gaol. Ho had been remanded on tho 19th inst. for medical examination, and was now declared tn be in sound health. He was discharged with a caution* CRUELTY TO A CHILD. Rachel Ramsbottom was charged with assault upon her step.child, Martha Ramsbottom. Mr Griflin (representing Mr Hamers* ley) appeared for the defendant, and asked for an adjournment to January Bth 1884. The case was adjourned accordingly.
