Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under Saturday, Deo 22. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Takapuna, at 2 50p.m. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 2.50 p.m. On Tuesday and Wednesday, 25th and 26th December (Christmas Day and Boxing Day), all Post offices will be closed. Local mails usually despatched on Tuesday will be closed on Monday, at 8 p.m., and a delivery will be made at the counter from 8 till 9 p.m. On Wednesday, the, this office will be oppen from 9 till 10 a.m., and a delivery wi”. be made by the letter carriers. . On Christmas Day and Boxing Day the telegraph branch will be open between the hours of 9 and 10 a.m, and 7 and 8 p.m. only. (Signed) Ed. Cook, Chief Postmaster.
