ANNIVERSARY DAY.

Anniversary Day has again been bright and pleasant, and the general holiday with which the occasion is usually celebrated, was taken advantage of by everybody who could manage to “ shuffle oil the coil” of business. Numerous picnic parties were organised and these left town in quick succession during the morning. Later in the day, a considerable number of citizens went out, by road and rail, to the Racecourse to attend the first meeting of the new Tradesmen’s Racing Club. The Flower Show also absorbed a good number of holiday makers, and the day was very generally enjoyed.
