At their wool sales this week, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) submitted a fairly representative catalogue, which comprised 4000 bales. There was a good attendance of foreign buyers, and active competition was experienced, 3540 bales were sold at about the level of late prices. Inferior crossbreds and faulty merinos were still somewhat depressed. Scoured wools are in active demand, and realised up to 22fd. A parcel of fleece was passed in at 21|d. StonewallingSydney, Dec. 13. The Land Bill was brought up for discussion in the Legislative Assembly last evening, and met with a persistent stonewalling from the Opposition benches. The Government are equally determined to carry the measure through and the House has now been sitting for twenty-four hours continuously.
