PRESENTATION.
A pleasing ceremony took place in Mr Jones’ office at the Eailway Station this afternoon. Mr H. Turner, who has for some years occupied the position of booking clerk at the Timaru Station, is about to be transferred to Napier, and his brother officers of the department determined to mark their sense of his worth by a presentation, which took the form of an illuminated address and a purse of sovereigns. Mr Jones, stationmaster, in making the presentation, referred in feeling terms to the merits of the recipient, and the regret with which he and the other employes saw him removed from them. Mr Turner suitably replied and the proceedings soon after terminated.
