(Pbb Pbess Association.) THIS DAT. A Public Question. New Plymouth, Nov. 15. A poll was taken yesterday on two questions, No 1 being whether the burgesses were in favor of a number of unsold town sections, which have been used as a racecourse, being Crown granted to the borough with power to lease for twenty-one years as a whole for horseracing, cricket, and building or other purposes, or (2) whether the sections should be made over in perpetuity as a reserve for the use of the Taranaki Jockey Club, Taranaki Agricultural Society, and general recreation grounds. The result of the polling was —For Crown granting to the borough, 260 against 15. Migratory Maoris* Over 300 Waikato Maoris passed through the town early yesterday morning. Wellington Races* Wellington, Nov. 16. Consul has been scratched for all bia engagements at the Wellington spring meeting.
