[By Telegraph.] (Per Tarawera at Auckland.) Sydney, May 10. The Postal Conference has held several sittings, the principal resolution under consideration being that the Australasian Colonies should apply for admission to the Postal Union; that any of the colonies, parties to the agreement, be accorded a separate vote in the affairs of the Union ; that each colony continue the management and responsibility of its existing subsidised lines ; but that any country using snch lines shall pay to the subsidising colony the full amount of the Postal Union rates upon the postal matter transmitted, and if it is shown that there is a greater loss than is now incurred, an adjustment shall be made of such excessive loss, A resolution was passed that on the appointment of the cable subsidy on the population basis, aboriginal inhabitants be taken to be included. It was resolved to call the attention of the Cable Company to their failure to carry out their contract, and to the recent interruptions in the cables. The delegates have been feted and picnicked.
