Mails close at the \ Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday, May 19. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Taiaroa, at 2.50 p.m. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, the Continent of Europe, America Africa, the Sandwich Islands, and Mediterranean Ports,, as follows Money orders, registered letters and newspapers at 1.30 p.m. Ordinary letters at 2 30 p.m. Late fee letters at the Chief Post-office till 2.50 p.m,, and at the Railway Travelling Post-office Mail Van (Northern Express Train; till 3.17 p.m. (Signed) Ed. Cook, Chief Postmaster. Chief Post Office, Timaru, May 14, 1883.
