Supposed Suicide' Mastebton, May 16. A Scandinavian named Madeon, has been found in a whaire at the head of Waingawa, close under the ranges with his throat oat. There was a knife and a scythe stone beside him. He was last seen|on Sunday, He was unmarried, aober, and aged twenty.four years. The cause surmised is ill-health and depression of spirits. The Alleged Land Dummies. Dunedin, May 16. The Land Board to-day declined to issue licenses of the deferred payment sections at Strath-Taieri, to D. E. Fisher and Joseph McCaw. A. C. Kimbell, for himself and other nnsucessful bidders at the February sale, wrote suggesting the appointment of a Royal Commission and that Iho Board should recommend amendments to the Land Act. Henry Lamb, Warden, Clarence, Tasmania, writes to the Board giving an assurance that the’ Youngs are not dummies.
