IN THE MATTER OF A BILL TO BE INTITULED “ AN ACT TO CONSTITUTE A BOARD OP TRUSTEES AND TO VEST IN IT A CERTAIN PUBLIC RESERVE NEAR THE TOWN OP TIMABU IN THE PROVINCIAL DISTRICT OP CANTERBURY FOR THE PURPOSES OP A RACECOURSE.” Notice is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly o! New Zealand at the ensuing session thereof FOR LEAVE TO BRING IN A BILL to be intituled “ An Act to Constitute a Board of Trustees and to vest in it a certain Public Reserve near the Town of Timaru in the Provincial District of Canterbury, for the purposes of a Racecourse,” and that the objects of such Bill will be I—To vest the land described in the Schedule hereto in a Board of Trustees for the purposes of racing; 2—To constitute the said Board a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal; 3—To provide for filling up seats in the said Board through vacancies occurring in the said Board; , 4—To enable the Governor to appoint any person or persons to fill any vacancy or vacancies; , „ , , 5 To set apart portion of the land described in the Schedule as a site for a racecourse; 6—To enable the Board to lease the said k’yll.To provide for the expenditure of the proceeds of the land in improvements and otherwise; B—To provide for the Board keeping accounts; . . , , 9—To enable the Board to make and alter rules for regulating their own proceedings for prescribing the conditions upon which the public shall have access to the said Reserve on days for racing, for regulating prices of admission on onch occasions, for excluding the public from the said reserve or any part thereof, for regulating the charges to be made for the occupation of the said racecourse, for the erection of booths and stalls for the sale of refreshments goods or chattels, for the admission of horses and vehicles to the said racecourse, and generally for regulating proceedings as regards the public convenience or otherwise.

And notice is hereby given that copies of the said Bill have been this day deposited in the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Timaru, other copies will be deposited in the Examiners’ Office, within fourteen days after the Commencement of the said Session, , , Dated this Bth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three. & J. All that parcel of Land situate in the Timaru District containing One Hundred and Ninety-seven Acres, more or less, commencing at a point on the Western side of the South Road, the same being the first bend or turn in the road North of the North-eastern corner of Section 3789, following the said road in a Northerly direction a distance of forty-one chains; thence Westerly at a right angle a distance of thirty-five chains fifty links; thence again at a right angle Southerly a distance of thirty-nine chains ninety-eight links to the North-eastern boundary of Section 7457, following South-easterly along that boundary a distance of twenty-nine, chains eighty links to the North-western corner of the before-mentioned Section 3789, following Easterly along the Northern boundary, thereof a distance of twenty-one chains eigteen links to the road above-mentioned, and from thence returning along that road | to the commencing point. lA-.
