UeaßuSih, —1. am directed by the Committee of Judging and Awards to acknowledge your, letter of the 16th inst., and to inform you that when the Davis’ Sewing Machine Company’s protest was investigated by the Committee, it was decided to refer the .matter, back to the Jurors of Section VII., asking whether they would kindly reconsider their decision and inform them (the Committee) at, an early opportunity whether their decision; given—of a First Order of Merit, Silver Medal could' bp altered to a recommendation of certificate of Gold Medal, the reply was that, after due consideration, ithey • could pee no reason for altering the award . This decision was final, and accepted by the Committee, Messrs Fiske and Co. being advised of the result, consequently the advertisement you refer to is NOT OFFICIAL.
