At the Harbor Board meeting yesterday Mr A. White wrote in reference to injury done to the Board’s, hawsers by his vessel, the Ganymede, contending the injury had t een caused by unskilfulness of the Harbormaster in mooring her. He forwarded a diagram showing the position of the hawsers. It appeared the Harbormaster had denied that the vessel was moored as represented in the diagram. In reference to this several members referred to the complaints against the Harbormaster Which had appeared in the public prints. After some discussion the matter dropped.

The monthly meeting of the St Andrew’s School Committee was held on Monday, April 9, The members present were Messrs D. StoweU (chairman), Sturrook, Gagne, Murray, Williams, and Newell. The Chairman reported having written to the Board of Education re the Inspector’s report for 1882, but had received no reply. Great dissatisfaction was expressed by the Committee at the delay of the Inspector in sending in his report. A member gave notice that at next meeting of the Committee he would move—“ That the Church of England Creed and other religious cards be removed from the walls of the School, and secular tablets obtained in their place.”
