At the City Police Court, Albert 1 Edward Morgan was remanded for a ■ week, for criminally assaulting a child, aged six years. Bail was refused. The Defaulting Clerk; Edwin (Marlow, defaulting clerk ; in the Union Steam 1 Shipping Co.’s service, was airresled at Port Chalmers, late yesterday, concealed in the house of a friend. It is believed he contemplated leaving by the barque Woodville for Chili to-day. He was brought np at the City Police Court this, morning, and formally charged with embezzling £BO ; lie was remanded, pending the getting other charges to be preferred. Bail was. allowed, himself in £IOO and two sureties of £250 each. Thu Imported Horse “ Apromont.” Christchurch, Sept. 13. The Middle Park Stud Company have purchased Mr Stead’s imported horse " Aproroont.” He is own brother to the celebrated horse “Cbarmant" and is ' a magnificently grown horse, standing 16 hands 1 inch high. ,
