“ The Chairman of the Levels Road Board.

“ Sir, —In’acoordance with the resolutions of last meeting, I have the honor to report as follows -

•‘ Mr Orbell’s letter re t fencing oft the road near the Oavo—l found thefoncing was being erected Which Would entirely stop the traffic, so that it was necessary

to take steps to form the road at once, which has been done.

“ Hoad through Jefcpate’s land—This road has not yet been opened, butl have made arrangements . for fencing the same, which will be done immediately, but it will require a survey before it can be transferred.

“ Land taken . from . the. N.Z.M.P. Company for shingle—l have pegged off the land agreed to be taken from the Company for gravel purposes, and have.had the same fenced.

Overflow of Washdyke Lagoon.— I have examined the Washdyke Lagoon, and I am not prepared to advise any plan for-keeping the lagoon at a permanent level, bat X believe the present flood could be let ont at a cost not exceeding £lO. “ Hr J. W. Newton's application.— I have not been able to visit this neighborhod since last meeting but, will do so during next month. “Mr Evans’ offer to supply pipes.— I have taken pipes which I consider will be required for .the next six mouths. “ I have forwarded tho plan to Mr Arthur Perry, showing the amount of land required from him for widening the road opposite his residence. “Mr Inman’s application.—l have been over this road again, and I believe an expenditure of £3O would make it a fair road. “ Contracts. —The whole of the contracts in hand are being proceeded with satisfactorily.
