(Feb Press Association.) Sprang a Leak* Wellington, Sept. 11. The Captain of the steamer Jane Douglas,which arrived from Poxtoh last night, states that the ketch Becannia, which was loaded in Fozton Rivet and ready to sail for Lyttelton, sprang a leak on Saturday and bad to be beached. The Becannia is owned in Lyttelton. Her cargo of timber, about 40,000 feet, is insured in the National Office for £2OO.

The body of an .infant was found at South Invercargill yesterday. It/had been placed in a box, which had been buried two feet down. The discovery was dne.to a dog, which called attention to the spot by scratching, and refused to leave. The pody was clothed and had a cap on.
