Mr Halifax vyrites to the “ Star ” as follows:—“ According to letters just received there is no possibility of the Australian team visiting New Zealand, as their articles of agreement do not admit of further extension. Their team, after arrival in Melbourne, will play two matches against Mr Bligh’s team. They may, however, come over not as a team, as Massie and others. are anxious to visit the colony.” Mr Halifax has been appointed to arrange for the visit of Mr Bligh’s team to New Zealand.
