Henry Walmer, charged with stealing two pairs of trousers from the shop of Messrs Coy and Drummond, at Temuka on Saturday, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, with hard labor. DBUNKENNESS. H. Mahanke, an habitual drunkard, was fined £5, or in default imprison, ment for 14 days. CIVIL CASE. T. Swinton v. Wellsman —Claim £7 4s. Judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs, further proceedings to be stayed till defendant brought his contra account forward next Court day. TIMARU—THIS DAY. (Before J. Beswick, Esq., E.M.) FALSE PBETENCES. Thiele, on remand, charged with obtaining flour from J. G. Allen by means of false pretences was discharged as there was no evidence to justify the charge, CIVIL CASES. The cases Ormsby v. Fraser, and Taylor, trustees in Arthur Ellis’ estate, claim £l3 Os 6d, and Maclean and another v, Forbes, claim £7 12s 6d, were adjourned for a week.
