TEMDKA— YESTERDAY. (Before S. D. Barker and J. Mendelson, Esqs., J.P.’s.) CATTLE IBESPASS. Arthur Gibbs was fined five shillings, for allowing a cow to wander at large. LABCENY. Henry Walmer, charged with stealing two pairs of trousers from the shop of Messrs Coy and Drummond, at Temuka on Saturday, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, with hard labor. DBUNKENNESS. H. Mahanke, an habitual drunkard, was fined £5, or in default imprison, ment for 14 days. CIVIL CASE. T. Swinton v. Wellsman —Claim £7 4s. Judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs, further proceedings to be stayed till defendant brought his contra account forward next Court day. TIMARU—THIS DAY. (Before J. Beswick, Esq., E.M.) FALSE PBETENCES. Thiele, on remand, charged with obtaining flour from J. G. Allen by means of false pretences was discharged as there was no evidence to justify the charge, CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered for the plain" tiff_ in the following cases :—Austin v Guildford, claim £lO 5s ; Levels Hoad Board v. Knight, claim £1 13s 4d ; Hurt v, James, claim £9 12s; Griffin v, Ellison, claim £2, In the case Malcolm v. Cole, claim £8 5s 6d, judgment was entered for plaintiff for £5 15s and costs 355. The cases Ormsby v. Fraser, and Taylor, trustees in Arthur Ellis’ estate, claim £l3 Os 6d, and Maclean and another v, Forbes, claim £7 12s 6d, were adjourned for a week.
