Wellington, August 18. Alfred Thompson, solicitor, of Christchurch, the absconder, passed through Wellington on the mail steamer. He was spoken to on board the steamer Wanaka by Mr Arthur Baker, of Messrs Bannatyne and Co.’s, who was an old schoolfellow of his.
Chbistchdbch, August 18. Nothing definite has yet transpired as to the whereabouts of Thompson, the defaulter. A meeting of his creditors is to be held on Sept. 5.
