MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Timaru for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— Saturday, Dec. 20. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Wanaka, at 1.50 p.m. For the United Kingdom via Brindisi and via Southampton, Australian Colonies, the Continent of Europe, India, Africa, China,and the Mediterranean Ports, at 12.30 p.m. Money orders and registered letters, at 11.30 a.m. Late fee letters bearing one additional rate per letter will be received at the Chief Post Office till 12.50 p.m., and at the Railway Travelling Post Office Mail Van (Southern express train) till 1-12 p.m. Correspondence intended to be forwarded by the above routes must be specially addressed. The European portion of the above mails will be due in London as follows: Via Brindisi, Feb. 9 ; and via Southampton, Feb. IG, 1880. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at Timaru on Saturday Jan, 3,1880, and will he due in London on Feb 17, 1880. \V. W. Beswick, Acting Chief Postmaster.
