CAPTAIN MOONLIGHT’S CAPTUBERS REWARDED.
[“ Times ” Special Wire.] SYDNEY, Dec. 6. At a special parade of the Sydney police the following rewards to the capturers of Captain Moonlight and his gang were announced : —Sergt. Carroll, £100; Sergt. Gasman, £75 ; the two constables who were present at the affray, £6O each ; Williams and McDonald, two civilians who conveyed the intelligence about the bushrangers, £SO and £25 respectively. Captain Moonlight has told visitor-’ to the Darliughurst gaol, that sin is confinement there he has held spiri i listic communication with the deceased Ncsbit, and the latter is anxious for the hangman to do his work promptly so that they may soon be re-united. Unfortunately for the desperadoes there arc no stations or banks to stick up in spirit-laud. Captain Moonlight applied for a postponement of his trial on the ground that the proceedings of the Kelly gang had greatly excited public opinion against him. Richard Thatcher has made a declaration setting forth that when he first arrived from Victoria ho found himself unduly incensed against the bushrangers. Poor fellows 1
