CRICKET.

BY DICK FIELDING.

Much to the disappointment of cricketers, Saturday morning was very wet, and most of the matches had to be postponed, which was a great pity, as some very interesting games .were to have taken place. Those members of the Dunedin Club who clid turn up had to content themselves with a scratch game, which does not call for any comment. The Carisbrook match fell through altogether, and the only Club who played their advertised game was the one newly formed at the Kaikorai. Their opponents were eleven of the Mosgiel Club, under the captaincy of Dryden. The Kaikorai men went in first, and were all disposed of for the small total of 20, none of them being able to make a stand against the bowling of Rollenson and Heath. Mosgiel went in and made 44 for the loss of five wickets, when the game had to be stopped in consequence of the downpour of rain. Mosgiel thus easily claimed the victory, winning by 24 runs and five wickets to spare.
