Oo Tuesday evening 3«t July, allhough the last Tuesday In the moir.h, a dance was not held, because one had been given the previous week to the "Veronica." Id place of ..a dance, a bridge evening was held which was so handsomely attended that a very happy gathering resulted. Under the cheerfur spirit prevailing among the joyous and good-natured throng, the play at times became very open, and in fact, venturesome. Several times were players "doubled," and on at least one occasion the player who "doubled," was promptly "re-donbled," with praiseworthy boldness. The origioal caller won through ; the opponents ,w-re not behind in their congratulations I It,has been said that "a faint heart never won fair lady."—But tblatime was lightly different—the "fait lady," with the help of a handful of hearts, faint and otherwise, came off the victor and carried away the prize. TUesupp.r interlude was happiness itself—the supper deliciousness itself ! So that all went home at peace with the world. Library : Two bound Volumes, Nos. VI and VII, of the Overseas Magazine for 1922 came to band by last mail, and may be referred to in the library.
