Serious Floods in Auckland.
LOSS OF LIFE. GREAT DAMAGE. Awanui, March 29. There are serious floods in North Auckland, There is loss of life and great damage has been done. Townships are flooded to a depth of several feet. The town of Paparoa is practically under water. A torrential storm burst over Whangarei. It is reported that five men have lost their lives. There is also a serious loss of stock. Phenomenal rain is reported from the Gisborne district. All the rivers are in heavy flood. . - ■* •-.-
