The Samoan Missionaries present their grateful acknowledgements To the Religious Tract Society, for 96 reams of paper, casts of wood cuts value £5, and French and Portuguese Tracts, value £5. To N. Chance Esq. Birmingham, for £lO 10 0, laid out in philosophical apparatus for our Native Teachers’ Class, and Mission Seminary. To friends at Stepney, Sheerness, Hobart Town, Sydney and other places, Mrs. Berger and other ladies
in England and Scotland, for valuable boxes and parcels of clothing for girls in the Boarding Schools, and for Native Teachers’ families. See report of Mrs. Mills’s School. In addition to these several brethren have also received various presents. Among others, Mr. Heath from friends in Norfolk, per Rev. S. Ransom, a box of clothing &c.; from Atherstone a box of valuable articles; parcels from Miss C. Smith, Miss Richardson, Leeds; Friends at Solihull, and two or three others unknown. Also a terrestrial globe, a box of books and tools, a parcel of stationary, ditto of inkstands and powders, &c. Mr. Hardie, from the young ladies connected with Ramsden St. Chapel, Huddersfield, for a box of useful articles; from the Juvenile Missionary Working Society, connected with the Rev. S. England’s Chapel, Royston, ditto; and also from friends connected with George Street Chapel, Aberdeen, ditto. Mr. Stair from Miss Jane Toomer, Wingham, Kent; from friends at Newbury, per Mr. Pearce; and from Mr. J. Adnams, Thatcham, Berks, boxes of valuable articles.
Mr. Nisbet, from friends and classes connected with the Relief Congregation, Hutchchisontown, Glasgow. Mr. Pratt, from ladies at Market Lavington a box. My. Harbutt, useful articles from several friends; and My. Slatyer, from friends at Devizes and Hackney.
