Abundant Winter Feed
Late haymaking activities have been in progress on many properties lately, the weather since the recent storm having been ideal. The week-long spell of fine weather has meant that the winter's fodder has been harvested in excellent condition, and the heavy crops should ensure adequate supplies for stock until well into the spring.
In some cases, farmers who cut early crops of hay have been able to harvest very gratifying second crops. The lateness of the last spring and the steady rainfall throughout the summer has occasioned phenomenal autumn growth.
