ANZAC DAY MEMORIAL SERVICE.

Anzac Day was kept in memory ml Warkworth with all due ceremony. Che arrangement of proceedings was in the hands of the local ministers >-.nd the local branch of the Eeturne^^Soldiers' Association. A large number"" of returned men assembled under Major D. M. Robertson, C.M.R., and, led by the Pipe band, under Pipe Major Williamson, of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders, marched from the bridge to the Soldiers' Memorial monument now in its new position in the Band Rotunda park. A portion of the seivice was held there by the local ministers, wreaths were laid and the lament "Flowers of the Forest," played by Pipe Majpr Williamson. The sounding of the Last Post by Bugler Mead, concluded this part. All present then marched to Town Hall, which was crowded, a good many not getting sea'ing accomodation. On the sfHire were Mr L Petherick, Chairman of Town Board, Revs. Grice, Hart, and Yule, Major Robertson, and Mr 0. O'Biien, President of local branch of ii.S.A. Appropriate hymns were sung by all, piayers offered up, and scripture read by the clergymen, and an inspiring address, stressing the lesson of tho war and the need for similar discipline nnd co-operation afc the present time, was delivered by Major Robertson, and appreciated by the large audience.
