TEA-CUP FORTUNES.
Much amusement may be got out of "reading- the tea-cups," and, indeed, there are many girls who really believe that one's fa^e is to be gleaned in this way! The popular idea is that three small specks near the top of the cup—reversing- it, of course, after finishing tea—mean that the thing you wish while turning- cup upside down will be fulfilled; also that a single speck near the top indicates the near arrival of a letter* If the stalks lie crossed you have enemies; if straight, your iriends are, planning pleasant surprises for you. Bad news is heralded by a stalk with a bunch of leaves on its back. Should the tea-leaves" form into the shape of a heart, it signifies health, wealth, and happiness galore.
