EATING ON UNIMPEONED

VALUES

TO THE EDITOR

Sir, —lie the " Unimproved Values " in Wark worth Town District. As one of the movers in the above may I just here state that this movement has been brought forward to ventilate the question and discuss the merits and demerits of the sytom. When after consideration the vote is taken it will rest entirely with the people themselves whether it is adopted or not. Tho people and they only are responsible for carrying out the scheme. Let me also state that those who have already signed the requisition have done so with the full understanding that whether its adoption increases their votes or otherwise their only desire is to soo a fair, just and equitable method of rating carried out. If after due consideration rating on Unimproved Values does not prove to be a fair, just or equitable .system, why none of us want it. The unimproved rating may perhaps press hardly on one or two cases (what system does not) but our plea is for the greatest good to the greatest number and the welfare of our Town and district. Thomas Walker. September 17th, 1912.
