Many vacuum cleaners operated by manual power have been invented, but this is the first, we believe, in which
the weigh* of the operator, in walking, has been converted into power. Bellows are attached to the bottoms of a pair of special shoes. The foot action might be likened to "walking o:: eggs." • .
