NEW SOLDERING PROCESS.
Soldering aluminium with ordinary solder is the purpose of a recent Norwegian patent. The parts to be soldered first cleaned with sulphuric acid, then washed and cleaned again in a ten per cent, soda solution. The article is next dipped in a bath composed of nickle sulphate four parts, sal-ammoniac two parts, citric acid 0.2 part, and water 100 parts. This is said to leave a thin nlm of nickel on the surface of the aluminium. A second dip contains chloride bf tin 0.2 part, pyrophosphate of soda twb parts. This forms a deposit of tin, after which solder may Be used in the ordinary way. 86
