WORKS CLOSING DOWN.
United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Received 26, 9.60 a.m. London, Oot. 25. In consequence of tne transporters’ strike few textile works are running at Bradford. One manufacturer, owning six mills, paying out £7OOO in wages weekly is closing uown, and meanwhile is paying hisjjworkpeople one third their average wages. The Brandon hosiery factory was fired and the entire stock and machinery destroyed, the ,damage amounting to £60,000. The inoendiarists are believed to be -soldiers.
