A fencing case occupied some little time at Marton Magistrate’s Oonrt this morning D W Pearson, of Onepnhi, sued Maki te Kura, of Onepnhi, for £lO IBs 6d for the cost of erecting 15% chains of wire fencing at 14a 6d per chain. Defendant admitted £7 12s 6d as being a fair price for the work, bat defended as to the fall price on the ground that the fence was to be pig proof, and that the lowest wire was 15 inches I from the ground, the plaintiff as- ! sorting that it was only 9 inches from the ground and one of the witnesses stating it to he 9 inches from the ground. This witness—Mr J. Bridger, manager for Mr E Thoms, valued the fence at 12s 6d, and the S.M. (Mr J L Stoat) after evidence for defendant had been given, accepted Mr Bridger’s valuation of the fence as being the true value, and gave jndgmput for plaintiff for £9 10s 6d, being 15% chains at 12s 6d. Goats £3 18s were also allowed to plaintiff. Mr Lyon appeared for plaintiff and Mr Stanford for defendant, F6r Bronchial. Goughs take Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure, 3b 9d, 2e 9d. 1
