TURAKINA NOTES.
From Oar pwn Correspondent. This weik has been distingmshed by heavy rainfall, resulting in the river and creeks being (flooded and lowlylng parts being tinder water. Not for four years has the creek been so high was on Thursday morning. Theground is now thoroughly sodden, and the weather is still wet and cold. Mr and Mrs B P Lethbridge left on Thursday for a month’a holiday in Auckland province. Althoogh greatly improved in health, Mr Lethbridge has not regained his former strength, and it is hoped the rest and change of hia holiday will do him good. Mr J. Hay, clerk at the railway station, has been transferred to Aramoho. Mr Hay is a married man and could not obtain a house to live in, hence hia transfer and the appointment of an unmarried man in his place, Kev. Howard Elliott addressed a meeting iu the hall on Wednesday evening. Considering the wet night the attendance was very good. Rev. J. Wilson presided. Mr Elliott gave a good address on the lines of his Marton one to an appreciative audience. At the close vote-! of thanks were awarded the speaker and the chairman,
