Wellington, Jnne 25 The House resumed at B o’clock, after several. members had been sworn in. ■ The Speaker’s inquiry if there were any petitions or notices of motion, produced a sheaf of requests for relief and inquiries for information on a wide range of subjects Mr Hockley (Rotorua) gave notice that he would on the nest sitting day move that a respectful Address be presented to the Governor in reply to his speech. Hon. WDS MacDonald, leader of the Opposition, gave notice to move an amendment to the Address to the effect that the Government does not possess the confidence of the country. Mr 0 Statham. Dunedin Central, gave notice to move a% amendment to the Address to the effect that the House feels the Government ought to be selected by members of the House or at least by the dominant party in the House. Leave of absence for the session was granted to the Hon. A M Myers. Leave was granted for a short period to Messrs W T Jennings, Tau Henare, T M Wllford and J K Vigor Brown. The Premier moved the first reading of the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill. The House adjourned at 3,40 till Tuesday. LEGISLATIVE CO UNOIL. The Legislative Council sat at 3 p.m. Leave of absence for the session was granted to the Hon Carson, The Council adjourned at 3.7 p.m
