Federal agents arrested Frederick Gimbei, head of the Great Department Stores, on a charge of profiteering. It is announced that this is only the beginning of extensive prosecutions. It is alleged that Gimbei sold a mohair suit costing 5 dollars and 50 cents for 20 dollars, and a suit of clothing costing 33 dollars for 75, also another costing 15 dollars for 33 dollars 75 cents. Gimbei has been held in 1000 dollars bail for the July hearing.
