PRESIDENTIAL CONTEST.

NEW YORK, June 20. San Francisco dispatches state that among the outstanding aspirants ior Democratic nomination for the Presidency are Senator . Owen, who was prominently connected with important Federal financial laws; Senator [Hitchcock, a former Democratic leader in the Senate; Governor Edwards, of New Jersey, who was elected on a platform opposed to prohibition; Governor Cox, of Ohio, VicePresident Marshall, John W. Davis, Ambassador to Britain; AttorneyGeneral Palmer; ex-Secretary Glass; ■Governor Smith, of Ncav York; Mr Gerrard, ex-Ambassador to Germany, and Mr Colby, the present Secretary of State. There is the question which lias been raised, as to whether President Wilson will run for a third term. It is pointed out that he has not yet definitely expressed his intentions m this respect. There is also some talk Of nominating Mr McAdoo, despite his statement that he will not stand for nomination.
