BLACK—JOHNSON.

' C A vary pretty wedding was solem. nised at St Andrew's Church, Marton, on 3rd June, of Miss Ellen Catherine Johnson, eldest daughter ot Mr and Mrs W. G. Joh-ison, of "The Laurels," Marten Junction, to Mr Robert John Black, of Kat'i Kati. The ceremony was performed by the Rev L. H. Hunt, tho bride being given away by her father. The bridegroom was attended by his brother as best man, and Mr A Barr, of Wellington, us sroomstnau. The reception was afterward 1 ? held at the Station Hall, Marton Junction. Ti'O Dride was arrayed in a ruagnificent dress of white satin charuiuese trimmed with silver lace and wore a court train of the same material lined with pole pink georgette with a veil and wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of chryj saHtheninuH, jouqnils and asparagus fern. She was attended by four bridesmaids dressed iu white silk, one of the two eldest being a sister of the bridegroom, Mis.* Daisy Black, and the other a cousin of the bride, Miss Hazel Anderson, of Wanganui. Both wore black picture hats and carried bouquets. The tw® ilttle ones wore wreaths of leaves and rosebuds on their hair, and with Master Spencer Anderson, a cousin of the brido, acted as train bearere.. The brido received numerous beautiful presents, the inajoriy of which were silver, including cake stand,: cruets, butter dishes, sugar bowl and very many other handsome and useful gifts, and they also received several handsome cheques. The hall where the reception was held was beautifully decorated with white flowers and evergreens, with mauve and pink streamers, and the tables were also prettily set ant. A dance was held in the evouing which was a great success, the bride and bridegroom staying for a part of the evening, The happy courle left for Rotorua where tiie houeyuioon is to be apeiit. One very pretty feature of the wedding wn< that the decorations were carried out with a mauve and pink effect.
