Taihape, May 1 •Word was received here last night that the railway strike will be settled so far as the A.S.R.S. men wo concerned and issued that work was to be resumed to -day. .. 4. At a largely attended meeting of railway men last night the local members of the A.S.R.S. resolved that they would not resnme worK tintil the locomotive men's demands had been conceded. Advice has been received that the A.S.RS. at Rangataua, Ohaknne and Wangaiiui resumed work today, but it is thought that when they have been 'made acquainted with the position they will again cease work. Locally the strike, in Which about 170 men are involved, has been conducted in a moss orderly manner.
