BOLSHEVIKS DEFEATED.

London, April 29 The opening of the Polish-Ukrain-ian offensive on the Voiynia-Podolia front explains the recent closing of the Polish frontiers. 16 is understood the Bolsheviks for the past six weeks had been attacking heavily, but General Piludn3ki declined to attack until the weather improved and everything was in readiness. Preparations for the offensive were carried oat with the greatest secrecy. It was finally launched on the 25th with imaaediate success. The Poles quickly captured Jitomir and several important villages on.the southern end of the front. Decisive successes continued on the following day, when large quantities of booty, particularly rolling stock, were captured. It ia reported that the defeated Bolsheviks numbered thirty six divisions. Pilsudski issued a proclamation declaring that tne object of the attack is to assist the Ukrainians in driving out the invaders. A Bolshevik communique vaguely claims successes on the whole front. Almost General Wrangle, on the Crimea front, began to attack northwards. He heavily defeated the Reds and made a big haul of prisoners and guns. He claims that his success has cleared he road from the Crimea. ANTI-BOLSHEVIK MOVEMENT GROWING.
