Crowds saw him off at the station and en route to Portsmouth, where the Prince was tendered a civic reception. There was a great naval demonstration, the Victory and all warships in- port being gaily dressed. Salutes were fired and cruisers escorted the Renown out Into the Channel. Received March 19, 10 a.m. 1 London, March 16; The Renown carries 700 bags of New Zealand mails. She will he escorted' by relay vessels picked up at various stations en route. Two Scotland Yard detectives accompany the Prince throughout the tour.
