Per Press Association Groymouth, March 16 A meeting of railwayman of all branches passed resolutions demanding the stoppage of work tor one ftri.l day in order to demonstrate that the service is united for drastic action, objecting to the belief that increases in freights and fares would be solely due to increase in the men’s pay, also protesting against the destruction of clothing by the military authorities, and that a stopwork meeting be arranged for a d iy daring the Prince’s visit. OPINION OP-TRANSPORT WORKERS. Dunedin, March 16 ' The Transport Workers’ Advisory Board, Otago branch, resolved that having reviewed Judge Stringer’s recommendation in the railwavmen’a dispute and having regard for the increasing cost of living, we consider the suggested settlement as ridiculous and unworthy of farther consideration by the railwaymeu.
